I don’t post this to let you depress yourself with the horrible situations that occur in the world. I post this because there is something you can do to make a difference for the people it affects. I guess I’m asking you to send the letter (if you read the following information and are appalled and outraged by the situation, and want to help), not to feel guilty of living in fortunate conditions. Remember that there is beauty in this world too.

V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop worldwide violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.
Stop Raping our Greatest Resource: Power to Women in the DRC is a new global campaign to call attention to the wide-scale atrocities committed against women and girls in Eastern DRC and demand an end to the impunity with which these crimes are committed.

How you can help:
Write to the President of DRC, His Excellency the President of DR Congo Joseph Kabila Kabange, urging the Government to do more to stop violence against women and girls and bring perpetrators to justice.
